Sock Yarn Scarf Directions

The idea for this scarf came from an excellent video tutorial from The Woolery. My yarn is different, but the methodology is the same. I would recommend watching this video (the link is on my blog 3-6-22). The video is very thorough and well shown. I'm just listing my measurements here as they worked out for me in case you'd like to make a similar one. Please feel free to ask questions.

Yarn: Wisdom Pix Sock Yarn, Street Art Colorway, 363 yards

Length of warp ends: 120 inches/3 yards 12 inches

Number of warp ends: 110

Heddle size: 12.5 rigid heddle, length 24 inches was used for my scarf

I hemstitched at the beginning and at the end. You don't have to do this if you're planning to twist the fringe, but I find it easier/less messy while I'm twisting if I do. I used groups of 4 threads to hemstitch. This left 2 extra, so I added these to the beginning and the end groups.

I cut my fringe after removing the completed scarf to 6 inches before twisting. I used a Maple Quad End Fringe Twister I bought from theknitstore on Etsy. Amazon has fringe twisters as does The Woolery. Mine works great and was very reasonable priced.
